The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture hosted the annual Thwaso ea Selemo sa Basotho, a cultural celebration marking the Basotho New Year. This significant event was held at the Basotho Cultural Village and was honoured by Morena e Moholo: Moremoholo Mopeli le Marena a hae. Thwaso ya Selemo sa Basotho ke mokete o hlomphuwang haholo setjhabeng sa Basotho. Mokete ona o tshwaya qaleho ya selemo se setjha ho latela almanaka ea Basotho ba boholo-holo. Hangata o ketekwa ka Phato kapa Lwetse, ha nako e fetohang e tshwantshetsa bophelo bo botjha, kgodiseho le teboho. This cultural occasion reaffirms the Basotho people’s connection to their ancestral calendar, agricultural cycles, and spiritual heritage. Khotso, Pula, Nala! Long live our heritage.
